How often do you hear the words “only in America” to describe the latest batch of weirdness creeping across the pond. This evening I’d like add the South West of Englands bold attempt to redress the balance.

I drove past my local papershop (for everyone, not just local people) this evening and I read the news flash printed on the bill board as I sailed past. Never particularly overwhelming, usually an update on the latest goings on at Gloucester Rugby club is about as exciting as it gets.

This evening, I kid you not, The Citizen bill board read “Free Sausage Roll for Every Reader”. I was still laughing as I pulled onto the drive … wouldn’t that make the crossword greasy?
